MEETING TODD RAMSAY FROM YETI FARM.

Technology keeps us together, no matter how far away we must be. May it be something as small as six feet or as impressive as six hundred kilometers. In this case, Technology allowed a legendary CEO to reach out to an ever grateful class with me sitting front and center as I always do. This CEO in particular was the one and only Todd Ramsay from Yeti Farm creative.

Some of the highlights from the presentation included:
- The important lesson of: sometimes, you just have to do a job simply because it's a job. (not because you have a passion for it, or even love it for that matter). As someone who has worked quite a few jobs simply for the money or for the experience, I felt that lesson on a personal level.

- Another important lesson is: when you first get out of school (College in my case) and start looking for a job, it WILL be hard to get a job at first. "But, after the first job it'll get easier" as Todd mentioned.

- The most important lesson I picked up from the presentation is this: PROTECT YOUR DRAWING HAND. Todd told a story about how he shattered his right hand/ wrist in a sports accident and was put out of the game for quite a bit of time. He ended up being lucky enough to be able to learn- RElearn in his case- how to draw with this left hand. I, on the other hand- would have no such luck. And thus, I was given an important reminder of how precious my right hand actually is. Not only is it my drawing hand, it is also my lifeblood and my way of exacting my passion and creating it into a career.

KEY TAKE AWAYS:
- connections are VERY important. One that interested me personally: Yeti Farm and a beloved company to me: Atomic Cartoons (the company who created the awe inspiring show- Hilda) have connections!
The lesson here, is start networking AS SOON as you can. And if you can't get into the company you dreamed of being in right off the bat? Network out until you can reach them.

- sure, curiosity might kill the cat. But satisfaction will bring it right on back! The lesson here is: it doesn't matter how frustrating something might be, seek the satisfaction that can come from either the journey or the final product. Because once you get it once that'll be something that'll keep you going- no matter what.

Overall,
Despite it being done online (thanks Covid :/) it was still an absolutely wonderful and informative presentation. Todd was a wonderful person, and may it be as a business acquaintance or sitting across from one another in an interview, I strive to meet him in person one day.

Thanks for the presentation Mr. Todd Ramsay, it was a pleasure to meet you.

Cheers,

Sydni Wiley
